What is the I Ching (Yi Jing)?

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is one of China's oldest classics. Through 64 hexagrams — six lines that are either solid (yang) or broken (yin) — it works like a mirror for you to reflect on a situation and make decisions.

How to read the result

  • Each line comes from a three-coin toss; the majority decides whether it is a yang (—) or yin (--) line.
  • An "old" line (all three same) becomes a changing line and forms the Resulting Hexagram.
  • Primary Hexagram = your present state; Resulting Hexagram = the direction or conclusion.
  • This reading is for personal reflection only — not financial, medical, or legal advice, ok?
