How to use hreflang correctly
Hreflang works as a reciprocal set: every URL you listed above, including the page you are currently on, must appear in the tag list, and the exact same tag list must be placed on every one of those pages — not just one of them.
Add one x-default entry to point at the fallback page shown to visitors whose language does not match any of your other versions. It is a strong best practice, not a strict requirement.
You can place hreflang as HTML link tags in the page head, as HTTP headers, or as xhtml:link entries in your XML sitemap. Pick one method for the whole site and stay consistent instead of mixing them across pages.
